Bathroom Renovations

Baths can be places of refuge to rejuvenate in privacy away from the noise of the day.

Bathrooms are areas that completely change a home. We work with home owners to create their dream experience. Owners will realize the additional benefit as the renovation will add value to their home. Whether you desire a soaking tub or a bright open shower we will work with you to build your dream.

Bathroom Projects

Bathroom I

1960’s Bathroom Renovation

This bath had been renovated once before going from the old builders design to this green corner tub with a header above along the ceiling. The sub floor had some rot and was replaced.

The new bath uses 12″ x 18″ dark green/black floor ceramic tiles with 12″ x 18″ white wall tiles which flows around the bath on all walls capped by a ceramic chair rail. The shower area is bound by glass panels.

The new Ikea cabinet and sink are raised above the floor making the tiles beneath visible. Tiles extend under the cabinet and this chair rail frames along the top of the cabinet to give a total finished room appearance.

Bathroom II

Basement Bath & Laundry Renovation

This home had an old bath in the basement with a metal shower stall which was not used often. The first floor had no washroom.

We moved the basement bathroom to where the laundry was, moved the laundry to the other side of the house and created a powder room for the first floor. Additionally, we rearranged the basement creating more storage and a closet for coats. The sink for the powder Room is 9-3/4″ deep in order to save space.

Bathroom III

Master Bathroom Renovation

This Master Bath was very dated, lime green walls, original Builder vanity, the shower was a fiberglass insert installed over the original Builder shower. We used 12’x24′ high gloss ceramic tiles that appear like marble.A stone pebble tile set was used for the shower floor. We installed a wide glass door with no side panel to keep cost down and to allow for more free air flow in shower which helps to dry out after use.

A radiant heated floor from CosyFloor from ICO Canada stops that “cold feet” effect when walking on a tile floor and provides additional comfort in the bath.

The vanity arrived as a single unit, very heavy, from Costco the center drawers make allowance for drainage pipes for the sink.

Bathroom IV

Main Floor Bath Renovation

This Bath Room was rearranged to provide more space and a better layout of fixtures. The old 1960’s tiles were removed along with a wall between the toilet and tub, replaced with Toilet and Vanity. A new tub/shower was built in place of the old vanity.

Bathroom V

Basement Bath Renovation

The prior basement wash room was a toilet sitting 3 steps up in the air. The city sewer line was 30″ above the concrete floor. Brings a whole new meaning to “sitting on the Throne”! To install a fully functional Bath Room required the installation of a Sanitary Grinder Pump. The end result is a beautiful and functional full bath.

The pump sits behind the toilet collecting waste from sink, tub and toilet.

The tiled floor was laid on top of 1/2″ pink foam board insulation to help separate the cold basement concrete floor from the tiled bath floor.
